About the illustrator
Benjamin Carre is a French illustrator living and working in France. He was born in 1973 and studied illustration in ESAG, France. Over the years, Carre has collected and produced a large body of work. He has had the honour of illustrating books for Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic and Magic the Gathering card game, to name a few. Carre’s illustration work can be viewed in a lot of mediums from comic book covers to artwork for tabletop games.
In addition to being a professional illustrator, Carre is also an author of several comic books and graphic novels. As a cartoon artist, Benjamin Carre has won several awards for his work. One of the most notable work that he has published, which was Smoke City, won him and his co-illustrators the Graphics Prize. He has also published several other comics under his name as well. One of which is the Vampires comic book series.
What work have I done?

My online portfolio is arranged by year of the artwork being completed. So you can easily browse through that artwork gallery if you need a better sense of what I am capable of doing as an artist.
You can also view several of my official artworks that I have done for games such as Mass Effect, Alone in the Dark, Rage of Bahamut and Heroes of Magic of Might. My speciality in video game illustration is science fiction and fantasy. But I have done a lot of horror illustration work as well.
My work also has graced the covers of many books currently in publication. I was hired to do the cover of Isaac Asimov’s republished Chrononauts. And in addition to that book cover work, I have also worked with Stephen King to produce and illustrate the cover for his book Colorado Kid.
As a comic book and graphics artist, I have also produced several graphic novels. Some of my published comic book series have been Vampires and Smoke City. You can view the rest of my published Bibliography on my website.
What do I do?
I do a lot of art-related projects, mainly related to illustration. So those who are interested in my illustration work, please just check out my website for more details. I have done commercial illustration work for books, video games, tabletop games, and even for magazine publications as well.
Aside from my official illustrations, I have also done several fan artwork for games, books and movies. A small selection of the fan art I have produced includes Blade Runner, The Lord of the Rings, Mass Effect, and that is just to name a few. I work with several different mediums such as traditional ink and pen. But I also use digital software to create digital paintings as well. I mainly use Photoshop and other Adobe software to finish up my artwork. I begin my drawing my illustrations on paper and then scanning it so that I can colour and refine it on the computer.
